Anna Hansen and Lance Armstrong Expecting a Child
Colorado- Lance Armstrong and Anna Hansen announced on CNN today that they are expecting a naturally conceived child that is due in June. Lance was diagnosed with testicular cancer in 1996. The cancer had spread to his brain, lungs, and abdomen before he completed treatment and was able to return to cycling (where he ultimately won seven consecutive Tour de France races).
The intense chemotherapy rendered him unable to naturally conceive children with previous wife Kristin Richards, but
there was no artificial fertilization processes used with the child that he is expecting with Anna Hansen.
This is great news for testicular cancer survivors, according to CNN medical correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta. It is evidence that his body was able to heal from all of the chemotherapy and surgery.
Illinois Health Department Falls Victim to Food Poisoning at Office Party
In an incredibly ironic twist, Lawrenceville, Ill. health department workers may have been subjected to contaminated food at their annual office Christmas gathering, as reported by the Associated Press.
