Man Arrested For Stuffing Cat in Bong

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Apparently it’s illegal to make bongs that hold your cat in the chamber now (please disassemble all of your cat bongs immediately).
An Omaha man, 20-year-old Acea Schomaker, was a arrested on animal cruelty charges after making a bong designed to hold his cat inside of the chamber. Police responding to a domestic disturbance call reported seeing the bong which was created using a piece of garden hose, some duct tape, and a plastic box which enclosed the cat.
“This cat was just dazed,” Sgt. Andy Stebbing said. “She was on the front seat of the cop car, wrapped in a blanket, and never moved all the way to the humane society.”
Schomaker explained that he was simply trying to calm the hyper cat down. “Shadow” was acting timid but in good condition Monday at the Capital Humane Society, executive director Bob Downey said.
Schomaker, who was released on a $400 bond, faces drug and misdemeanor animal cruelty charges. He did not respond to phone messages from the Associated Press.
